About Manon
JDP_9054.Fave_Headshot.jpg

Manon (she/her) is the owner of Holistic Homeostasis, a Naturotherapy clinic, specializing in nervous system health, somatic trauma therapy and perinatal support located in Dalhousie, New-Brunswick, Canada. She works with clients of all types, from babies to older adults, and sees local clients, generally from the Restigouche and Chaleur regions in New Brunswick, but also offers online appointments to those not local to this area.

Manon addresses whole health by combining her education and training in Exercise Physiology, Somatic Experiencing®, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, various styles of Yoga including Yin and Restorative, Holistic Nutrition, Shamanic Energy Medicine, and Labour and Postpartum Doula - striking a balance between her scientific background and attunement to the more subtle wisdom and ways of knowing.

Manon worked in health research for over 10 years in the academic, public and private sectors, before spending the last 10 years self-employed and expanding into a more holistic approach. Inspired by her own personal struggles and triumphs, Manon is passionate about preventative holistic health, supporting the body’s amazing natural ability to heal itself.

In her practice, Manon celebrates the diversity of humans in size, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation and abilities.

Manon is accredited by the Alliance of Professional of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists (APNN) and some of her services may be covered under your extended health insurance plan (some Canadian provinces only).

Manon is fluent in English and French, and has a good working knowledge of German.

UP CLOSE & PERSONAL

Manon has been a traveler, an explorer and lifelong student. She's travelled to over 25 countries (many on her own), and has made her temporary home in many places, but has always considered New Brunswick as her Home. The base from which she flew from and always returned to. Since 2018, she and her family have returned and settled in Dalhousie, New Brunswick.

Ben and Manon met at a shamanic energy medicine training in Germany in 2014 and married 10 months later. In 2017, they became proud parents to a very ambitious and beautiful little life force, Olivia. Her family are her greatest teachers and dearest teammates on this life's journey.

Their family's vision is to create a solid home base and community in Dalhousie, NB where they can grow their vegetable garden and preserve & ferment foods for the winter, be active in and be nourished by the amazing nature that surrounds them, create close and meaningful relationships and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the people of the region.

They are both self-employed and enjoy the freedom and creativity that comes along with the entrepreneurial life.

  • Manon is most at peace sitting silently in a train, plane, bus or ferry. It's through traveling that she truly learned how to value the journey, not just the destination.

  • Manon is a recovering perfectionist and an aspiring "good-enoughist" (and huge fan of Brené Brown!)

  • She could live in leggings and yoga pants (oh wait, she practically does!)

  • Before becoming a yoga teacher and switching gears in her life, Manon was an elite hockey player and also played competitive soccer and rugby. She played hockey for Team New Brunswick at the 1999 Canada Games, played for the University of Ottawa GeeGees, and was recruited to try out for Junior Team Canada in 1999.

  • She started, and quit, her PhD in Germany in 2012.

  • She is deeply guided by one of her first yoga teachers Eoin Finn's mantra "Nothing to Prove. Everything to Share." (removes so much pressure!)

  • Her husband's favorite quote of hers is "Farting isn't funny, it's a sign of poor digestion!".

  • Manon is proud to say that she can't do handstands and yes, she's still a yoga teacher. And, she has a slight (ok, strong!) dislike for Instagram-gymnastic-style yoga!
